Divers fonds et programmes de soutien permettent à l’ASSM – souvent en collaboration avec des fondations privées – d’encourager la relève scientifique et la recherche. Lorsque l’affectation des fonds n’est pas définie dans le cadre d’un legs, ceux-ci sont destinés à des domaines de recherche importants pour la médecine et le système de santé, mais encore peu établis.

Swiss Personalized Health Network

À la demande de la Confédération, l’ASSM dirige la mise en œuvre de l’initiative «Swiss Personalized Health Network» (SPHN) en collaboration avec le SIB Institut suisse de bioinformatique. Le SPHN contribue au développement, à l’implémentation et à la validation d’une infrastructure coordonnée, afin de rendre les données de santé interopérables et partageables pour la recherche en Suisse.

Au terme d’un processus d’évaluation en plusieurs étapes, le financement de 4 National Data Streams (NDS) a été accordé en 2022, d’un commun accord avec l’initiative «Personalized Health and Related Technologies» (PHRT) du domaine des EPF. Les NDS constituent des piliers centraux pour l'écosystème des données de santé du SPHN et pour les plateformes de recherche de PHRT. Chaque projet sera soutenu par le SPHN et PHRT par un montant de CHF 5 millions au maximum sur une durée de 3 ans.

En 2022 également, un appel à «projets de démonstration» a été lancé, avec pour objectif de montrer la plus-value apportée par les infrastructures mises sur pied par le SPHN. Les retombées de la recherche basée sur les données pour la médecine personnalisée, pour la recherche clinique et pour la recherche en santé publique seront mises en évidence, ainsi que les applications cliniques. Un total de CHF 4,3 millions sera réparti entre 11 projets lauréats.

SPHN a en plus donné son accord à l’intégration d’une étude de cohorte suisse au catalogue international Maelstrom.
